The Association for Educational Communications and Technology, the professional society for Education Technology, defines ET as: the study and ethical practice of facilitating learning and improving performance by creating, using, and managing appropriate technological processes and resources.
Making use of this tool further allows for the inclusion of practices that will effectively make use of technology to strengthen and broaden the experience of the student.
Educational Technology together with Instructional Media affords the enhancement of students learning ability by providing diverse and creative aids and practices for teachers to effectively impart knowledge.
It has been established by expert theories that the multiplicity of the human intelligence allows for all the differences of learning and learners to be met keeping key facts in mind.
1. Each learner is different and possess their own capabilities that need creative nurturing,
2. The teacher must be willing to cater to the specific needs of the learner, this can done by
3. Carefully identifying the areas that are prevalent and inferior within that learning environment and then
4. Structure and prepare creative and effective activities and content and assessment

Week 1 Reflection:
ReplyDeleteI have appreciated the course on this subject area. I especially appreciated it because the facilitator made sure to incorporate in her lesson various aspects of exactly what she was teaching. This made for easier learning and was demonstrative of her learning as well. In the age in which we live, it is critical to get up to speed with the use of educational media. As teachers we cannot afford to be left behind, especially when considering that we must cater to the various learners and learning styles in our students. It therefore calls for innovation and creativity in the classroom.
This course sparks my interest on technology. It has been accessible to us for a long time whether we could be able to define what was technology. Furthermore it has its place in the classroom, in education. With a pool of information at our finger tips why not be better equipped to handle the different learners we come across as teachers. I am as eager as an active learner to press something see what happens, dive into until I figure it out, because my interest has been spark. Collaborative contributions amongst peer fosters discussion and through this there is no limit to the topic it seems never ending. This first week already has me questioning what needs to change or what could have been done different.
ReplyDeleteNow i know technology is anything that can be used to enhance our learning experience. technology can be used in so many ways to bring out the creativity in our young minds ( children), we can use it to stimulate them and get them involved in their own learning. When i get back to my classroom i will definitely try my best to use technology to create a more stimulating environment for my class.
ReplyDeletei am now knowledgeable of the role of technology and media in the education. i have learned that there are useful technology that can used in the classroom to make learning and teaching easier. i have became more sensitive to the fact that different individuals learn at different pace so now knowing this i will be sure to cater for all of my students
